Paid contractor job with DIY project management and sourcing to ensure best value REYNARD WOOD multi-purpose-plank. Decision quickly made to replace with 2 wall system, and keep the original wall sub 900mm height, and cut back the earth by > 1.5m for the 2nd wall. Original thinking was garden beds, but then further ideas and best value was to invest in more planks for a deck instead of plants and ongoing maintenance. A side section staircase was added to allow ease of access to the rear yard, all embedded look into the grass.
Digging post holes by hand navigating the existing underground storm water drainage, not to damage and need to replace, whilst ensure upper-level drainage added into the system. Professional alignment of both walls, and staircase is needed by experienced trades person, which was executed well.
Created additional space for a rear yard dual retaining wall system with intermediatory deck, with side sectioned staircase using H posts with REYNARD WOOD multi purpose plank. Concreting, between the existing back veranda and over the top of storm water drainage solution, soil relocation to the front yard and waste removal from old, treated timber sleepers now of no further use.
Significant improvement to backyard of property, with elimination of any safety risk of old timber wall failing due to recent increased rain conditions. Functionality of decking space with zero maintenance v’s a garden bed design of that sized solution with a dual retaining wall.
